International Day of Rural Women recognizes rural women´s role and contribution in agriculture and country development in supporting their communities (improving food, elimination rural poverty).
Global Handwashing Day was celebrated for the first time in 2008. UNICEF (United Nations Fund for Children’s Activities) declared this day. Handwashing with soap and water is one of the most effective interventions to prevent serious illnesses.
